Programme Objectives

  • Equips students with a solid foundation of social sciences disciplines in economics, psychology, sociology and politics for articulation to different undergraduate programmes

  • Trains students to analyse social issues through an inter-disciplinary approach

Programme Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to:​
  • communicate convincingly in speech, writing and presentation in both English and Chinese languages for further studies and work;
  • apply a range of IT applications and quantitative skills to support and enhance work;
  • ​apply critical thinking and reasoning skills, thus enhancing problem solving;
  • demonstrate the familiarity with different approaches to the study of politics, economics, sociology and an ability to apply these to contemporary collective and social phenomenon;
  • evaluate information from diverse sources and use appropriate methods to conduct research; and
  • integrate and apply knowledge as well as theories of various social science disciplines to everyday life.
